We interviewed Mr Rawlings, here are his very interesting responses:
1) What did you want to be when you were younger? I always had in my mind I would be an architect. That did not work out, however, I have now built my own building at the bottom of my garden so I guess I've had a taste if it. 2) What three things would you take with you to a desert island? A knife, a water bottle and a toothbrush...boring I know, but I would thrive in this situation! 3) What advice would you give to your younger self? Be brave and bold enough to always be YOURSELF no matter what. 4) If you could do any other job for the day, what would it be? Murder Detective. 5) What GCSEs did you take? Art and Music were my two option choices. 6) If you could go back in time, where would you go and what would you do? It would be cool to go back and see a real life dinosaur in the flesh I guess. 7) Who has been the biggest influence on your career? Mr Hawkins, my Maths teacher at school. I always ask myself what he would do in a given situation and attempt to follow suit. He had unwavering principles. 8) What was your first ever job? Working at Odeon cinema. It was immense to get paid to watch films. 9) There is a teacher's quiz night, which three teachers would you pick to go on your quiz team? Mr Baker from Student Services would be my first choice, he is a fountain of knowledge. Mr Elliott would be my second choice as he is more competitive than most human beings on the planet. Finally, Mrs Green, just because she is the nicest teacher I know. Thank you to Mr Rawlings for finding time for this interview.
